Road To Sports Stardom Goes Through Yukon Fox

Posted by Yukon Fox On April - 27 - 2010

So if your counting at home that is two professional athletes that have come through Casa de Yukon Fox senior year of college. I unfortunately had to stand my ground and kick Hasheem Thabeet out of my apartment during an unpredictable Spring Weekend and a few weeks before that we hosted the then future Gator, Aaron Hernandez for a few games of beer pong. My roomate requested him giving up Florida for the football mecca that is UConn if he beat him. We are still waiting for him to suit up in the blue and white. Dan you are about to get your wish, just this blue and white has some red mixed in there. That was just life as a college student for Yukon Fox, mixing it up with NBA and NFL quality athletes. Yawn.

P.S. I will not accept responsibility for Thabeets lack of production or Hernandez’s munchies.

The Pats Grease The Wheels To Get Me In To School

Posted by Yukon Fox On April - 22 - 2010

Patriots.com - The New England Patriots will team with the National Football League (NFL) to give a $1 million unrestricted gift to the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy (CSTE) at Boston University School of Medicine to support the Center’s research.

So if you didn’t know already Yukon Fox accepted the groveling of Boston University to attend there institution in the fall. I will be packing my bags from Loisaida and moving to Beantown. I’d like to think I got accepted based on my own merits but its good to know my friends over in Foxboro want me in Boston so bad for the ’10 season that they made a small donation to help get me there. Thank you Mr. Kraft and Mr. Goodell.

P.S. I do feel like I’m downgrading a little bit going from a Husky to a Terrier.

Just pretend Eddie is darker and looks like 50 Cent in above photo

Wow I hope Ray gets his shot back. Missing 2 threes? Ray, how about you stop running with your mom in the Boston Marathon and start thinking about the playoffs.

P.S. When did Cheryl Miller shave her head and start claiming she was the career three point leader in the NBA

Master’s Starts Today

Posted by Yukon Fox On April - 8 - 2010

The Master’s Tournament tee’d off this morning at Augusta National, and so begins one of the most intriguing tournaments golf has had in awhile. Obviously any tournament where Tiger Woods is in the field will garner some attention but this is the first time Tiger Woods has played competitively since he played Joslyn James’ back nine, if you know what I mean. He has been open to the media this week and for the first time you are getting a sense he is starting to believe himself when he talks about redemption and perspective. Now based on the previous Nike exploit of Tiger’s dead dad we know he is as mentally tough as they come but I don’t see him being 100% into winning this thing and he should consider even making the cut a victory in itself after all that has happened. The field is looking pretty good especially with Ernie Els coming off of a bad year to win, Tiger’s usual Master’s warm-up, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the World Golf Championships already this season. Along with the likes of Phil the field is pretty stacked in opposition of Tiger. And let’s be real after if Ernie and Tiger are the final pairing and sees that blond hair come towards him the wrong way with his 9 iron he might get a little post-traumatic stress and end up crashing his golf cart into the 18th hole sand trap.

Note: Masters.com has amazing coverage for everyone chained to a desk.

Mets.com throws April Fools Joke

Posted by The Incident On April - 1 - 2010

April Fools has become a web developer’s playground.  It gives web developers a chance to open up their creative minds and play practical jokes that wouldn’t fly the rest of the year.  This year, from Youtube turning you’re videos into text, Google Maps turning Street View into 3-D, to Funny Or Die pretending to be owned by Twitter sensation Justin Beiber, everyone is getting in on the action.

The Mets.com is even joining in on the fun.  When I went over to Mets.com today I saw the prank above.  This prank starts telling me that Daniel Murphy will miss two to six weeks (which in Mets medical standard terms means at least two months) and Reyes will not start Opening Day.  It then pulls the prank to ask me to buy Opening Day tickets.  It’s a pretty good prank.  I mean no ones going to buy opening day tickets for an Opening Lineup of Matthews, Castillo, Wright, Bay, Francoeur, Jacobs, Barajas, and Cora.  Right?  I’m hoping that lineup is an April Fools Joke itself.  Unfortunately it is not.

Sextuple Double Recorded In Massachusetts

Posted by Yukon Fox On April - 1 - 2010

ESPN – GROTON, Mass. — Colin Cook, a 16-year-old junior at Lawrence Academy has recorded the first known sextuple double. Cook had 28 points, 21 rebounds, 12 assists, 11 steals, 15 blocks and 11 turnovers in a 65-48 victory over inter-league rivals Roxbury Academy.

If you were like me you probably weren’t paying attention and clicked on this post expecting something completely different. Sextuple Double just sounds like something really cool I’ve never even heard of but alas it was just some kids throwing up monster numbers in a boarding school b-ball game. If I were this kid I would not be touting a sextuple double. Who the hell would want to brag about 11 turnovers especially when its against 12 assists that assist to turnover ratio is bush (prep) league. So if the turnovers cancel out the assists this is just your run of the mill quadruple double. Unless you count the 10 DD’s he banged out at the post game party. Now that is a “sex”tuple double I can get behind.

I got a feeling this is going to be a good season

Posted by The Incident On March - 25 - 2010

The Situtation from The Jersey Shore threw out the first pitch in the Mets spring training game against the Astros on March 24th.  I mean if the situation is throwing out the first pitch, it’s got to be a sign that this is going to be a good season, right?

Supposedly he took tips from Oliver Perez before hitting the mound.   According to the Situation’s twitter page, “Awesome experience meeting all the mets n David WRight – My throw game will admit was a lil off lol”.  My guess what he was trying to say was that his throwing game was a little bit off.  I’m not doctor though but I am a Cunning Linguist.

Pursuit of the Mirror Ball Trophy

Posted by Yukon Fox On March - 22 - 2010

When I say I’m gonna give something a shot I don’t lie. Dancing With The Stars started last night and I watched the whole episode…this might be harder than I thought.

One week down and here are a few things I have learned from the first episode of Dancing With The Stars:

1. Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens may change places half way through the season.

2. Every Erin Andrews critique will be one long euphemism.

3. I will not be able to understand one word Bruno says.

4. We will see Niecy Nash’s FUPA way too much.

5. Each episode will not help Evan Lysacek’s case for heterosexuality.

6. Over/Under: 25 moon walk references before Buzz Aldrin is eliminated

7. Buzz Aldrin’s wife might be a wind-up doll.

8. I still want Nicole Scherzinger to bear my children.

9. Len will be revealed to be a candidate to replace Jacob.

10. Kate Goslin gave her kids cell phones so she could get the asian vote.

11. Pamela Anderson is still alive.

I’ll still stand by Ochocinco but I won’t be disappointed if Nicole wins. Who wants in on the DWTS party next week. Any takers? I’ll make Guac?
