After watching a couple of episodes of Food Network’s Throwdown with Bobby Flay, I’m starting to believe that Bobby Flay is a dick. If you haven’t seen the show, the premise is that they trick renowned chefs in their respective fields into thinking they have their own show on the Food Network. The chefs vary from Arepas-specialists to BBQ Pitmasters. Once they start filming their Food Network pilot, Bobby Flay shows up out of no where and challenges them to a cook-off or as he likes to call it a Throwdown. During the competition, both chefs prepare their particular version of the dish, and both are then evaluated by local judges to determine a winner.
So basically Bobby Flay walks in with a pompous attitude and thinks that he can out cook any other chef. Kind of a dick move if you ask me. Not only that but I’ve seen tens of thousands of these episodes (ok, maybe not thousands), but this dude Bobby hardly ever wins. Its a rarity that his dish is picked over the chef in that particular field. I’m just saying I don’t think Bobby would enjoy it much if he was in the middle of boning his wife and The Incident shows up and issues a Throwdown.
